Kenzie's day at school

Kenzie had a great day at school. First off this morning, the school had a Breakfast and Read event for the students and parents. They provided breakfast and we were supposed to read to the kids. We didn’t do much reading but it was fun to have breakfast and hang out with friends.

Then we moved to the auditorium where they had audio/video stories. The kids and adults both enjoyed that.

Then there was the Book Launching Party. All the gr. 1 and 2 students wrote short stories and made an illustration. The stories and pictures were consolidated and published in a book. I have a copy of the book. A copy of the book is also available at the Library of Canada now J So our Boo is now a published author! Today was the book launch party. They showed pictures of all the kids’ illustrations on the big screen in the gym. They also made a short video of some of the kids explaining how it felt to be a published author.

This is when kenzie’s page came up on the screen.

After that we went back to the classroom where each child read his/her story to the class. They we all had cupcakes.

Kenzie has wanted to take Koda to school for “show and share” for quite some time. I got a note home from her teacher yesterday saying if we wanted to bring her by today we could do that. So of course I did. It went great. Koda behaved so well and the kids LOVED her. She got lots of treats and lots of hugs. And Kenzie was so proud.
