P.E. I.
This year, Andrea invited the kids and I, and mum, to come on a family vacation with her and Chris and Jordana and Isaac. CJ decided that he would stay home because a) he doesn't have much vacation and b) this will allow him to take a few days off to hang out with Sarah when she comes. So I graciously accepted Andrea's generous offer. Its been prett busy at work lately so I was more than ready for a few days off.
So yesterday morning we got up super early and CJ took us to the airport. The kids were SO excited. They have both been on planes before but not since they were very young. I don't think Seb remembered being on a plane so he was exceptionally excited. He alkmost exploded from excitment when the plane took off.
The flight was fairly uneventful and the drive from the airport to the rental house also went well. The house that Andrea rented is beautiful. It's a typical PEI (big) home with a wrap around porch, a huge property with lots of space to run, and plenty of beds and bedrooms for everyone to be comfortable.
The kitchen is also beautiful.
We are now coming to the end of day two and its been pretty enjoyable so far.
Mum and I got up early today to go for a walk. I need to keep up my walks even when I am away from hoem. I like starting my day that way - makes me happy. (side note: I drove the same route later today and we actially walked about 6.5 km). So we ended up walking along the dirt road that the house is on. It was beautiful. There were fields and fields of flowers, potatos and other "farmy" stuff on both sides of the road. On one side we were also able to see the bay with the beautiful blue water. The road is also lined with wild lupinias - they are GORGEOUS!
Anyhow... so after breakfast, Andrea and I took the three older kids to the beach that's just down the road (about 4 miles). It's not the best beach but it is close and convenient and as far as the kids are concerned, if there's sand and water, they are happy. We spent a few hours there before coming home and having lunch.
After lunch Kenz and I escaped upstairs and took a luxurious afternoon nap. What could be better??!!
Seb and Isaac are addicted to the computer and they play really nicely together.
Kenzie and Isaac also play well together but are a bit more like siblings with a love-hate relationship.
Kenzie is also in heaven with Jordana around because now she has a live doll to play with :) and Jordana just rules the roost and everyone loves catering to her every whim and need, but she is so darn cute that no one minds at all.
In any case, it's been a good start to a very much anticipated vactaion and so far it hasn't disappointed. Tomorrow we will either... visit a different beach (sunny day) or amusement park (cloudy) or Anne of Avolea Village (rainy day)... we'll see.
