So I'm on the bus yesterday chatting amicably with an "elderly" woman sitting next to me (I'd guess she was around 80). She started talking to me about her kids and grandkids. Then she asks me "Do you have grandchildren?"

Oh, Karen! HOW did you respond to that? Grandchildren, indeed...
ha ha. I was kind of dumbfounded. All I said was "ah no. I have two small children at home. I guess I waited a bit longer than most to have kids".
