Okay how bad is this? I have a friend coming over for dinner tonight (arriving between 6:00 and 6:30). I told him I’d make dinner. The thing is, we have no food in the house so I have to go grocery shopping first, then get the kids from daycare and then get dinner started. I am panicking because I don’t have time to do all that if I leave the office at my regular time (4:30). I think I might make some medical excuse (dentist appointment) and leave at 2:30. That is one drawback of this job. At my old job I had enough seniority/precedence that people didn’t care when I came or left cause they knew I’d get my work done. This new company is way more regimented. But I have hardly any work right now. I was swamped before Christmas but now things have slowed. Okay, I have convinced myself that making and excuse and leaving early is okay. Thank God for blogs.
