Mr. Entitlement

He’s charming, has a great sense of humor. He’s able to look you in the eyes and make you melt. He’s handsome as all get-out. Everyone wants to be his friend. If you are lucky enough to be the recipient of one of his captivating smiles or heartfelt hugs, it makes your day. People bend over backwards to please him. They WANT to please him because they want him to be happy. Because when he’s NOT happy… look out. He can make your life miserable. He is demanding, difficult and self-centered. It’s not like he intentionally makes your life miserable… YOU don’t even factor into the equation. He only thinks about himself. His way is the right way… and when life doesn’t go according to his plan, he is confused and bitter and angry. But he gets away with it because people love him. Because when he is happy he spreads joy. He loves life and all it has to offer.

It took me many years of falling in love with these men and having my heart broken to be able to identify them and steer clear. My life has been much happier, fuller and more rewarding since I had this realization.

God has a very interesting sense of humor. He gave me a Mr. Entitlement as a son.
