karate

Well it was really neat. This was the first time Kenzie was in the actual karate studio (dojo). The parents got to come in too and watch. I was really impressed watching what all the kids had learned at their school karate course. It was done at lunchtime in teh school gym every Wednesday for the last 4 months. The Sensei explained that the course at the school is different from the real karate since they don't have the mats and the proper space they have at the dojo. So Kenzie didn't actually get her yellow belt yesterday... but she was awarded a white belt with a yellow stripe.

I was still amazed at everything she knew how to do and I was impressed by how well all the young kids focused and paid attention.

In any case, Kenzie has shown a real interest in karate so I think we are going to sign her up in the real program where she’ll go two or three times a week (and she'll get the white outfit which she is excited aout). Sebby is also signed up for an “assessment” next Friday. I’m not sure if he is ready for karate. He is not very good at following direction and he has the shortest attention span imaginable… but those are some of the reasons I want to get him into the program. We’ll see what comes out of it.

Happy Valentine's Day

Hi there.

It’s me Karen and I am alive and grateful. The last couple weeks have been absolutely crazy. CJ and I have just been so swamped (that is an understatement) at work. The kids have also been sick so that is always stressful and required CJ and I to juggle our work schedules to stay home etc. But it’s the weekend so let’s not talk about work…

and it’s Valentine’s Day!

Happy Valentine’s Day!!!!!. Kenzie has been counting down the days for the last 10 days. She was so excited last night. Of course CJ and I were woefully unprepared for the day so I ran out to the store yesterday to pick up some cards and small treats. Well lo and behold the Superstore had these amazing giant stuffed animals there (and they were only $29 each). I couldn’t resist. I got some strange looks as I was walking through the store with these two in the cart. It was totally worth it when I saw the kids faces this morning.

For Valentine’s day CJ made me a CD with a bunch of songs (by him). It’s awesome. It’s basically just him and his guitar. I LOVE it. I will take it in the car with me so I can listen to it all the time. He sounds so good. Thank you honey!!

This is what I look like pre-coffee in the morning

Okay, I’ve just realized that I am WAY TOO tired to blog. So I will upload this now and then drink my coffee.

And here are some random pics taken over the last few days…
