Let it snow...

.. let it snow, let it snow.

and let there be a snow day tomorrow!!!

The weekend

Note: I am concerned about the safety and security of blogging. I love blogging. I realized that THIS is my hobby. I love keeping a diary of the day to day events in our lives and I love posting pictures of the kids, family and friends. Therefore, I am in the process of investigating various options to make this a more secure and safe endeavor. I am hoping to find a way to continue to blog but while also protecting my family from the "freaks" that are on the Internet. If anyone has any ideas of what I can do, please let me know.

The weekend is a blur. I think Friday and Saturday were spent recovering from Thanksgiving. Kenzie and I hit Target for some shopping on Friday. We got her a new bedspread - it's so girly and she loves it and it matches the colours in her room perfectly.

Saturday we lazed around, I worked a bit, we watched football and we napped. It was nice.

Yesterday Kenzie and I hit the Hanna Andersson outlet store. We got some great deals. I got Kenzie's Christmas outfit and a darling fleece winter coverall for Sebby. oh yah... and tights... we bought tights.

During naps, CJ watched some football (GO SEAHAWKS!! It would be so cool if the Seahawks played in the Superbowl) and I did some more work. After the kids woke up Kristin, Scott and Montana came over for a visit. I love these people. They are beautiful people. They just exude love, kindness and happiness. Kenzie adores Montana. It's funny to think that Montana used to feed Kenzie her bottles and now they play together.

Scott, Kristin and I also enjoyed "the wine". We almost finished a large (1.5 l) bottle. Which brings me to my final point... I decided on the way in to work today that I am going to quit drinking until Christmas.

Thanksgiving 2005

I'd like to start by saying that I am amazingly thankful for my family and friends. You are my life and I love you all.

Yesterday, Thanksgiving 2005, was a wonderful success. A few memorable moments included:

1. Starting the day by taking Seb to the doctor only to find out he had a double ear infection.
2. Seb falling asleep at 11:00 am and not waking up until after 4:00 in the afternoon seeming to feel 100% better! Thank you God!
3. The smell of Thanksgiving day turkey cooking.
4. Tasting the fabulous wines that people brought over (Thank you Andrew and Deb)
5. Kids running around, the place like a zoo or madhouse, and everyone just enjoying it.
6. Darwin bringing over his specially ordered 30 lb ham, after finding out (after it was cooked) that it was actually a lamb shoulder.
7. CJ's "entertaining" behaviour towards the end of the evening. For example stealing the largest habenaero pepper off Dawn's pepper tree and eating it. Or telling Porkchop and his fellow Seahawks just what he thinks of their game these days (note: They responded with an "uh. Thanks....").

And what's a post without pictures....

all's well that ends well

To continue from my previous blog post. I was extremely tired yesterday morning. After Sebby went down for a nap at 9:30, CJ told me to take a nap. I was lying in bed just drifting off to a peaceful slumber when I remember that my friend Karen was coming over for a playdate at... 10:00!!! uh... in 10 minutes.

I jumped in the shower, dried off, threw on some sweats and went to relieve CJ of his child care duties (if I'm going to be up, he may as well get some rest). Before he headed off to bed CJ made me a delicious ceasar (to take the edge off).

Karen arrived shortly after 10:00 and was more than happy to accompany me in my morning debauchery.

We drank our ceasars, let the kids run wild and just had fun chatting. Here are some pics.

After Karen went home, the rest of us took turns napping and playing all afternoon. We actually had a very fun day. Every once in a while we'd get a text message from DW, giving us an update on the never-ending "labour saga". Poor Dawn... it seems that Gregory decided at the last minute (after Dawn was in labour for literally weeks), that he didn't want to come out.

But all's well that ends well.

Gregory Darwin came into this world via c-section at 6:30 pm Sunday November 20th weighing 9 lbs 4 oz. Mother and son are doing well.

Welcome Gregory. We look forward to meeting you and to you joining our family!

And Gabby, thanks for hanging out with us. We had fun with you.

I am sad to say that our house did not fair too well.

tired but happy

So, poor Dawn is still in labour. She is finally checeked into the hospital though so hopefully we'll have a new baby sometime today! Go Dawn!

I went to Costco yesterday - wow talk about shoppers heaven. they had some great stuff! I had so much fun Christmas shopping.

Last night was rough. Gabby stayed over... or at east that was the plan. It all went splendidly until bedtime. Kenzie and Gabby were too excited to sleep. Then they both got overtired and Gabby got homesick. Anyhow, we ended up calling DW at 1:00 am and he had to come get Gabby so she could get some sleep at home. Kenzie and Seb decided that they wanted to stay up the rest of the night - I got to bed at 3:40.

This morning Gabby is back and happy, Seb is up and Kenzie boo is still sleeping - it's almost 9:00 - this is unheard of for her.

anyhow...

Here are some recent pictures. I love this family of mine.

the gig

So the band Spank had a gig last night. It was great. They sound fantastic and they look good too! I had a great time hanging out with my buds. Here are some pictures...

no title

1. JL and Rebakah both sent me e-cards today. You two ladies are so wonderful. You are thoughtful and kind and caring and I want to hug you both right now. Rebekah - when the heck are you coming to seattle? JL, are we really going for dinner on Monday?

2. Spank (CJ's band) is playing tonight. I am really excited. It will be fun to watch them rock out and listen to them play. I am going to take pictures at the gig. I've never brought a camera before. I wonder how CJ's mom will react?

3. The other day CJ drove me to work. He and I were chatting and laughing. Kenzie yells from the back seat "Mummy, Daddy! STOP TALKING!!! YOU ARE MAKING ME INSANE!". ha ha ha

4. I cut CJ's hair yesterday. I did a damn good job. He looks so hot. Next I'm going to dye it - well bleach it really. I love my platinum-haired rockstar.

5. I'm thirsty but too lazy to get up to get some water. I'm also still very tired. I wonder how long it will take for me to recover from the weekend.

6. Sebby has been so snuggly lately. I think he may have a bit of a cold and that might be why. I don't want him to feel bad, but i sure love his snuggles.

7. I love living in seattle.

my weekend in Philly

wow.

I should just end this post now with "wow". I am too tired to write more and it is impossible for me to capture all the fun and excitement with words. But, just so I don't forget, I will write down as much as I remember. I can't do it in order, so here are some random memories.

- Here's the group of us before we went out on Friday night. We warmed up by drinking apple martini's. The best part was when Kat snuck in about 8 oz of vodka into Jen's drink after Jen complained that it wasn't strong enough. (Jen drank it)
PB110025

- More warm up photos.
PB110018

PB110019

- Erin and Nikki... I SO WISH you could have come out and partied. I am very bummed you couldn't but glad that we got to meet. But your babies are adorable and I was so glad I had them to love on. Erin, thanks for the body butter, it is YUMMY!

PB110022

- Michele's fish. Apparently it was "sleeping" on it's back. It sure looked dead to me. But Michele insisted it was alive and somehow brought it back to life.
PB110015

- Friday night we went to a couple bars. The second one being a karaoke place. Note: the 13 of us got into the van for the trip to bar #2. Yes, that's right, I said 13 of us in a minivan. ha ha ha. The girls did great at karaoke. They are braver than me... and have much better voices. Michele's Dad picked us up from the bar. "Michele, YOUR DADDY'S HERE!"

PB110042

PB110030

- Saturday, after Erica and I had our 4:00 am Denny's swiss and mushroom burgers and passed out for 3 hours until the sirens & car alarms on the freeway woke us up, we headed over to tooth'y house for breakfast. There is nothing like a smart-ass dentist yelling & swearing at you for getting lost and not following her directions, to make you feel even more hung over. I forgave her when we arrived and she put a cup of coffee into my hand.

After a few hours of hanging out we headed over to the King of Prussia Mall. On any other day I would have been in heaven. This mall is INSANELY huge! I could have shopped there for about 8 hours and come home with $2000 worth of stuff. Instead I ate my Philly cheesesteak, said hello to Janet (who by the way is pregnant - she found out yesterday - although I should have know from the way she scarfed down this food), dragged my ass around to find a gift for the kids and then Erica and I headed back to the hotel for a nap.

Here's the pregnant one. Yes, she needs food.
PB120002

No sooner had we arrived at the hotel, then Crystal called to say they were going to pick us up on the way to toothy' for dinner and getting ready for the night. By the time we left our hotel room and reached the car, it was surrounded by firemen that Kim had picked up with her sexy Irish accent. btw, she called me Karn the whole trip. It was funny. I believe her parting words to the firemen boys in Room 309 were "What are you doing around 1:30 am? Nothing, okay good... go get us some taco Bell and we'll be here around 3:00 am Thanks boys!". I wonder if they were waiting for us.

So... I'm getting tired of blogging. Let's fast forward through the next 12 hours....

- Get to the house, liquor store run, start drinking, eat chinese food (BTW Marley - you owe me for the chinese fortune I gave to you) and get ready. Marley did everyone's hair, Erica put on false eye lashes for me. They looked pretty damn hot. Here we all are dolled up, before we picked up the rest of the crew at Michele's.

PB120003

- Picked up the rest of the ladies, and we loaded ourselves into the stretch SUV limo with an insane driver named Dale.
PB130034

-get to the bar and the partying begins.
